JoikuSpot 2012 Edition adds new client features

There are number of new client features only available in the 2012 Edition. For instance, you can set Data Caps for your JoikuSpot use. Data Caps can be set by session or by total maximum allowed data use. This is especially useful if your data plan with your network operator introduces restrictions for data amounts that are allowed. The client also presents a monitor view, where you can track your total data consumption. In addition, you can set limiters to connected users. You can for instance define that only 3 devices can connect to your HotSpot at one time.

Introducing My JoikuSpot Web Service

For 2012 Edition Users, we have opened up a new value added service via a personal web portal My JoikuSpot. You can register a Free Account at My JoikuSpot either from the JoikuSpot 2012 Edition client, or via web at www.joikuspot.com. By logging into My JoikuSpot you can then make use of the value added services within the personal web service. At the start, My JoikuSpot contains following services.

At My JoikuSpot, you can view Your entire JoikuSpot Session and Data Consumption history. Your JoikuSpot session history will be visible under your personal My JoikuSpot Account.

You can also manage your JoikuSpot profile and connect your Joiku profile with Social Media, at the start including Twitter and Facebook. After connecting your profile with your Twitter and Facebook profiles, you can share your JoikuSpotting from the JoikuSpot client with your Facebook and Twitter Buddies.

JoikuNews

2012 Edition comes with integrated JoikuNews Client. You can directly access latest JoikuSpot updates from the JoikuSpot Client. This way you will always know when there are new product updates available or new platform versions being published. JoikuNews is optional of course, and there is no forced subscription.

JoikuSpot 2012 Edition comes with support for Ad Hoc WiFi connectivity, and WEP security that is available in the Symbian OS. You are able to set a passkey for your WiFi HotSpot to avoid unwanted use. You are also able to name your WiFi HotSpot anyway you like (SSID naming). Difference between JoikuSpot Premium and JoikuSpot 2012 Edition

JoikuSpot 2012 is a different product than JoikuSpot Premium.

The Premium (3.2) Edition provides basic WiFi HotSpot functionality, where the connection can be secured, and where the internet protocol stack is fully unlocked. That is, you can access all web protocols, VPN and email clients with JoikuSpot Premium.

JoikuSpot 2012 Edition provides and alternative to Premium Edition, if you want more from your JoikuSpot. JoikuSpot 2012 contains everything that the Premium Edition has packed in, and in addition it does more. 2012 Edition is enriched with new exclusive client features, integrates with social media via My JoikuSpot, introduces My JoikuSpot web service for 2012 Edition users with personal JoikuSpot profile, and integrates with JoikuNews.

There are also differences in phone model compatibilities. Whereas JoikuSpot Premium supports every Symbian phone model from Nokia and SonyEricsson, Nokia N900 Maemo phone and is preintegrated in Meego N9 phone, the 2012 Edition is exclusively available for Nokia Symbian Anna and Belle phones.

There is no Light Edition in JoikuSpot 2012. JoikuSpot Light continues to be available for free for all Symbian phones from Nokia. However, My JoikuSpot Web Service is only attached to JoikuSpot 2012 Edition, and is free for all 2012 Edition Users. My JoikuSpot requires a separate registry. However, registry is fully optional and there is no forced registry to adopt My JoikuSpot value added services.

Works Globally

JoikuSpot 2012 works globally across most 3G/2G Operator networks in the world. All you need is a proper mobile data plan with your operator and a compatible WiFi phone with JoikuSpot 2012 inside. Joikusoft recommends fixed monthly mobile data plan with your operator as operators do charge for the mobile data consumption via JoikuSpot. If you are travelling abroad, we recommend familiriazing yourself with the roaming data costs of local operators before using JoikuSpot.

If your operator has data consumption restrictions, you can set proper data consumption levels (caps) in your JoikuSpot 2012 Edition client settings.

JoikuSpot 2012 Edition End-User License

The 2012 Edition License entitles you to one software installation on your mobile phone. The license is for personal use, and can be transferred to a new phone with same OS platform, or renewed if lost. You need your purchase receipt for our customer care when you want to renew or transfer your license. You can freely change your SIM card on your JoikuSpot phone without affecting your JoikuSpot license entitlement. As part of the installation process you need to agree with JoikuSpot 2012 Edition Privacy and Legal policy.

My JoikuSpot Web Service requires separate free and optional Account registry at www.joikuspot.com, and using My JoikuSpot Web service is bound by JoikuSpot 2012 Edition privacy and legal policies.
