There has been lots of questions of future platform support for JoikuSpot. Thus, we chose to open up a bit of what is in the pipeline near term in our WiFi Tethering domain.
JoikuSpot WiFi HotSpot today supports S60 3rd Ed and 5th Ed WiFi tethering as well as Maemo (N900) WiFi tethering. We have also a partnered and comarketed product for
Windows Mobile WiFi tethering in our JoikuShop AppStore.
We reccently also added
iPad WiFi tethering support to JoikuSpot product. This means you can tether your iPad using WiFi with your Nokia N900 or S60 phone.
Next in the pipeline will be JoikuSpot releases for Meego WiFi tethering and S60 v3 (Nokia N8) WiFi tethering. Also JoikuBoost release with USB modem support is soon to be unveiled.

Linux based Maemo devices from Nokia.
JoikuSpot is world’s most used and popular solution for on-demand mobile WiFi internet and mobile 3G HotSpotting. During 2009, more than 5 million mobile internet experiences were made via JoikuSpotting, and the overall JoikuSpot user base grew to over 500.000 actual JoikuSpotters. Altogether this resulted into more than 100 Million Megabytes of mobile data consumption across more than 200 countries and 750 operator networks worldwide. Average global JoikuSpot internet consumption grew from 8 Mb to 22 Mb per JoikuSpot internet session, which speaks to the improvement in 3G operator network qualities in 2009.

The new JoikuSpot Linux Edition contains enriched features such as Speed Measurement to allow users to accurately see their mobile internet connection speed. Users see exactly the mobile data speed they get with their mobile broadband subscription.
JoikuSpot is designed to be End-to-End and Operator friendly, and adds to the Operator 3G data ARPU. Solution allows Operator measurement of JoikuSpot user profile and data traffic volumes, and produces graphical real-time reports of actual mobile broadband usage from JoikuSpotting. In addition, roaming detection, IMSI range restrictions per operator definition, server originated user updates and full operator branding and feature customization may be applied. More than 30% of JoikuSpot users upgrade to flat rate mobile data with their operator after starting to use JoikuSpot for mobile Internet. Joikusoft has already rolled out 6 operator-branded solutions for mobile 3G WiFi Tethering, and comes pre-loaded in newer Nokia devices such as N97 and N97 Mini. The solution comes with full internet security and internet connection stabilizer in moving contexts. Joikusoft announces JoikuBoost; World’s First Multiplexing WiFi Tethering software for Smartphones
Joikusoft, the creator of the world’s most popular WiFi Tethering software JoikuSpot, today announced a new innovative software solution called JoikuBoost, which enhances the mobile internet connection speed of JoikuBoost-enabled devices.
JoikuBoost improves mobile internet connection speed by wirelessly combining 3G data connections between multiple mobile phones in multiple operator 3G networks. The actual internet speed multiplies as the data bits transported in a JoikuBoost WiFi network simultaneously flow through multiple operator 3G networks.
JoikuBoost bases on a new communications protocol developed by Joikusoft.
JoikuBoost looks for other JoikuBoost users within close proximity. With user permission, JoikuBoost aggregates the 3G data connections over WiFi and creates a larger, unified and shared bit pipe. Multiple JoikuBoost-enabled phones are able to join and create WiFi Share Hubs, providing the ability to create personal 4G Wifi networks over 3G with friends and associates, meanwhile forming an internet connection which boost the mobile internet user experience to a totally new level.
Nokia has JoikuBoost software installed on many of smartphones. Nokia currently offers Joikusoft’s JoikuSpot Premium software as a preload on Nokia N97 and N97 Mini touch screen smartphones.

DNA Operator from Finland announces that it has taken the JoikuMetrix solution in use first in the world.
The solution was developed to give subscription-specific statistics on the data transfer speeds in the operator 3G networks, in order to facilitate the provision of optimised trouble-free data connections to operator customers.
"JoikuMetrix measures data transfer throughput, i.e. the connection speed experienced by the customer, and produces a report enabling the software main user and subscription user to ascertain the connection speed of the base station serving the subscription at the time of measurement", explains Timo Varsila, Director, Products and Content, DNA Ltd.
The software, which can be installed in a mobile phone and USB modem, a.k.a. a ‘Mokkula’, improves the transparency of mobile communications network service capacity and contributes to pinpointing development needs, for instance.
