I am interested in Joikuspot for the Nokia N900.
But what I would like to know is how the software purchase works.

Will the joikuspot be linked to my specific N900 device (linked to the imei number for example), or will it be linked to the SIM card used?

I switch sim cards regularly (If I'm in a foreign country I usually buy a local pay as you go card for example), and my current Nokia N900 is a loaner from Nokia. So in two months I will also have another N900 with a different imei number.

Will I run into trouble if I buy Joikuspot because it is linked to a specific imei or sim card number? Or do you use the Ovi service and is it linked to my ovi account? (that would be fine by me)

You can indeed transfer a validly purchased license to your new N900, when you change the phone.

When you purchase the license, please store the PURCHASE ID of your transaction for such later use. To get a receipt of your purchase it is important that you provide us with a proper email address as part of the purchase process, to which we shall send a receipt with transaction confirmation.

When you change your phone please consult our customer care (thtough JOIKUSPOT HELP LINK) and they will assist you in provision of the direct download link to your new N900 device (works directly from your phones browser).

Switching SIM cards is supported automatically so no license transfer needed there.

I contacted customer care about a month ago for assistance with this and am yet to receive anything back other than the stock auto-responder.

As it stands, I've paid for a license that I can't use because I can't find a way to reinstall the software on my recently flashed N900 :(

Any ideas?

Rgds,

Bob.
